Gifts and hospitality can play a role in building business relationships and engaging with stakeholders. However, at Splice Group, we follow strict guidelines to ensure that any gifts given or received are of nominal value, and hospitality is kept within reasonable limits.
It is absolutely prohibited to accept, offer, or promise gifts or hospitality that could influence, or even appear to influence, decision-making. It’s important to recognize that, under certain circumstances, gifts and hospitality can be seen as corruption or create conflicts of interest, especially when dealing with public officials.
All gifts and hospitality must comply with applicable laws, serve a legitimate business purpose, and be transparent and proportionate in the context of Splice Group’s activities. Employees must reject any offers and refrain from offering any gifts or hospitality that breach these principles.
Gifts and hospitality should never:
Include money transfers, cash, or cash equivalents.
Exceed nominal value (for gifts) or reasonable value (for hospitality), considering local culture and living standards.
Be offered or accepted too frequently or at inappropriate times.
Violate the recipient's known organizational policies.
Be inappropriate in nature.
Be offered to or accepted from a public official unless allowed by local laws.
Gifts and hospitality must never affect, or appear to affect, decision-making.
